It’s warming up here in the Central Valley, and I think it’s caused a case of Spring Fever in the guinea pigs. They’re rumbling a lot and having tantrums — like flipping over their food bowls. I totally understand their frustrations, the downside to working at home is that you’re ALWAYS at work, and your environment rarely changes.
Since it’s warmed up enough for me to sit outside and read, I figured it’s warm enough for the girls to hang out on the lawn. We have tons of extra cube panels, so I zip tied several together and brought them outside!
Riley really wants to play with the piggies, but they really don’t have any interest in her. Plus, Riley’s afraid of them if there isn’t a cube barrier between them LOL! For instance, when Riley’s in my reading chair in the office, if I place Bubbles with her, Riley freezes up and tries to figure out a way off the chair without touching Bubbles.
The first few times outside, the girls explored and seemed comfortable. But, when I enlarged the run today — they didn’t like the freedom and they kept hiding under their willow tunnel.
Love those funny faces!
And those cute little bums 🙂
Do we dare explore?
I’m hoping they warm up to outside time before it gets too hot for outside time. Don’t worry — I’m ALWAYS out there supervising — I wouldn’t leave them alone for a few seconds!
They did try to eat the grass today, but they only ate a few pieces. I’m tempted by all the wheat grass tutorials floating around the piggy forums, but we don’t have the space to do that for them. We can’t wait until the watermelons are back in season — the piggies and I LOVE watermelon!
Well — hopefully the weather holds up and we’ll be able to make this a daily thing, and that the girls will get over their Spring Fever soon!!!!
