I’m still feeling the effects of being glutened the other day. To my defense, it was an amazing poppyseed hot dog bun. The hot dog was wrapped in bacon. On that amazing grilled bun. For like $5 with garlic fries. I know, I’m an idiot. But I’m a sucker for anything with poppyseeds. And garlic, even though I’m also allergic to that.
Sigh. So today is going to be lots of tea and basic paleo things to hopefully jolt my body back into normalcy.
Originally I had planned on doing the 12 of 12 yesterday, but that didn’t happen.
Yesterday was so busy I pretty much forgot to eat, and I can’t fast after I’ve been glutened or I just get worse. I had work to do, which took forever because with 4,000 sq ft homes there’s all kinds of ridiculous details like… oh the dog house has solar to power the dog’s reverse osmosis water purifier and the ruby encrusted spa was designed by an Italian jewelry designer. OK, not really, but sometimes that’s how it feels reading the ridiculous listings. I’m just waiting for the day when I come across a house with an on-call pedicure station — so much more luxurious than a jewel encrusted spa.
Speaking of pedicures, after work we cleaned the guinea pig cage and the girls got baths & pedicures. Sparkles got extra cuddles with her Pops, and he made sure her silky hair was all brushed out.
It drives me nuts how the girls fawn all over him yet I’m the one who takes care of them.
We’re trying to litter box train the girls too. Googling told me it would be easy since they already do their business in the same two corners. Well, Sparkles had other ideas for the litter box… she’s decided it’s her new bed. Sigh. I can’t wait until we move and I can make them a larger cage, with multiple boxes for her.
It was also the first day of school at the city college yesterday, where Jeff’s doing the prereqs to transfer to finish his degree. Long story short, we’re paying a ridiculous amount of money for a class on basic computer literacy – stuff he already knows but has to take the class regardless. Since it’s on using Microsoft Office, we have to pay $68 for a one semester license for an online simulated Office for him to do assignments and take tests. Plus the textbook. Plus a specific year of Office that matches the simulator. I don’t miss school at all. Even my obscure Deaf Studies textbooks didn’t cost as much as his. Apparently there’s been a lot of inflation in textbooks since I went to college :-\
We finished the day off with a trip to Coldstone, I had a coupon that expired in a few days and after all the busyness and stress, we wanted ice cream!!!
Back to the grind today — no work orders yet, but budgeting to be redone (thanks to that stupid class) and two new template sets to finish 😉
That is if this rugrat even lets me look at the computer!
