Wow… it’s been awhile hasn’t it? Both Jeff and I have been busy with work, family, and huge changes in our lives.
The refinancing boom has kept me swamped with work, but I’m getting better at prioritizing and making time for blogging again. I’m sitting here having my breakfast, and I realized instead of browsing the news sites and forums, I could turn that time into blogging time 🙂 Unfortunately I also haven’t been keeping up with my Project Life or P365, my days are so consumed by work that I don’t have much else to share.
Jeff’s also been busy with work, but he’s finally been able to hit the lakes twice this month for some fishing! He caught this trophy trout up a Shaver Lake, the lake that was drained & refilled this year. The fish hatchery to the north of us has stocked the lake with trout, including some giants that they raised just for Shaver!
Aside from work, we’ve both made huge lifestyle changes. We’re grabbing the bull by the horns and trying to get back down to our ideal weights. After Easter this year, we realized we’re both at the heaviest we’ve ever been… and we weren’t happy with that. Mentally we were still very active people and looking forward to a summer of hiking and kayaking, but physically… we were not up to that. I joined Weight Watchers Online, and Jeff started using the My Fitness Pal application for his phone. My fifth weigh in is tomorrow, and I think I’ll finally hit the ten pounds loss! Weight Watchers is definitely the program for me, I’ve failed at everything else… but this point system makes it so much easier! I’ll be blogging more on the journey another day… along with some of my favorite WW friendly recipes 🙂
For exercise I’ve done Xbox Kinect games like Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 & Zumba Fitness Rush, and I just got some awesome rollerblades to exercise with Jeff! For support, I’ve created a group on facebook for other digiscrappers trying to lose weight, and I hang out on the 20’s board at WW. Having outside support has helped me by leaps and bounds, I’m proud to say I haven’t fallen off plan since I started!
Did anyone catch last night’s solar eclipse?? This was my FIRST solar eclipse, I was super psyched! I’ve wanted to see one ever since my first lunar eclipse, but it seemed like they never happened on this part of the globe. The above photo is of the crescent shadows the eclipse made against our house — very cool!
I’ll be back soon with more recipes & updates, I better get to work before I fall behind today!
