Our Misadventures was originally founded as a personal blog by Jeff and myself, recording our adventures in life as a couple. The blog has morphed into several different purposes over the years – scrapbooking blog, food blog, business blog… what’s next?
I’m somewhat lost for words when trying to describe myself, I don’t want to be too wordy but I also don’t want to miss anything.
The typical short biography for me would be a work-at-home-business-owner-and-wife with two dogs and two guinea pigs, who loves to be creative, adventure, and help others. I married my best friend – as cliché a that is, I really did. Together we have all sorts of misadventures – misadventures not just traveling, but also in life lessons. Growing up I always struggled with the idea of who I was going to be when I got older. Now I’ve learned to live in the moment and not make “someday” statements. That’s who I am, I’m someone who seizes opportunities – opportunities to learn, to make a difference in someone’s day or life, opportunities to get out and do something!
I have a heart to serve others in the best ways I can, which is why I now spend my working days as a Social Media Strategist. I’ve taken the knowledge I acquired for our own small businesses and use it to equip other small businesses. I don’t claim to be an expert, but someone who can come along side you and point you in the direction of becoming your own social media strategist for your own brand.
When I’m not helping others, I like to read every book that catches my eye. I’m a total sucker for cozy mysteries, especially ones that are quick to read but still well-written. I have no idea how I managed to read in-depth thrillers back when I was going to school full time and working just as much! Even though I love traveling to see new places and take a break from the everyday, I really love it because it means uninterrupted reading time. When life is too busy to read books, I tend to collect more cookbooks than I could ever need!
Jeff is an avid sportsmen and loves to get out and fish and hunt as much as he can. He doesn’t stick to one type of hunting or fishing, he likes to try everything. He has been deep-sea fishing out of Los Angeles, and freshwater fishing in several rivers and lakes in the Sierras. A member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, he likes to educate others in the importance of animal conservation and the preservation of the sport of hunting. Aside from being an outdoorsmen, he enjoys playing video games on his PC with his brother and their friends.
