About Us

Our Misadventures was originally founded in 2011 as a personal blog by Jeff and Meg, recording our adventures in life as a couple. The blog has morphed into several different purposes over the years – and eventually was abandoned because life happens. Now in late 2019, we’re reviving it to share our adventures and passions as we make major changes in our lives.

About Meg

Meg is a woman of many passions – traveling, books, knitting, helping others, family, pets, Pokémon… a lot of things! Most days she finds comfort in working from home and curling up with her knitting or a good book. When she isn’t introverting at home, she can be found walking or hiking and exploring new areas.

In 2018 Meg was diagnosed with endometriosis after an emergency cystectomy. Already diagnosed with Celiac disease and hypothyroidism, this was a turning point in being an advocate for other women with chronic illnesses. Following excision surgeries in 2019, Meg was also diagnosed with PCOS. She helps women become their own advocates for proper treatment and dispels myths in a Facebook support group. If you want to learn more about these conditions, see her resource page.

For many years now, Meg has worked independently as a Social Media Strategist specializing in account management for food bloggers. She loves coming alongside fellow business owners and equipping them to succeed on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and more. Learn more about Meg’s business here.

About Jeff

Jeff is an avid sportsmen and loves to get out and fish and hunt as much as he can.  He doesn’t stick to one type of hunting or fishing, he likes to try everything.  He has been deep-sea fishing out of Los Angeles, and freshwater fishing in several rivers and lakes in the Sierras.  A member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, he likes to educate others in the importance of animal conservation and the preservation of the sport of hunting.  Aside from being an outdoorsmen, he enjoys playing video games on his PC with his friends and experiment in the kitchen.

Meet Meg

Meg

Hey all! Welcome to Our Misadventures, which is my old blog (circa 2011!) revived. I'm a full-time social media strategist with a passion for lifting up small businesses and entrepreneurs.

I'm an adventure and travel addict, married to my best friend (cliché but true,) I love good tea all throughout the day – and sometimes relax with a good book or my knitting. I'm an advocate for women with endometriosis, PCOS, and other chronic illnesses.

We're in the middle of moving back to the Pacific Northwest, specifically the Coeur d'Alene area.

Instagram post 2331100217923294455_3292215 Today was Worldwide Knit In Public Day #wwkipday ... and since we’re still in a crazy pandemic and I’m immune compromised... my “public” knitting was from the porch while it rained! I’m already on section four of my #shiftcowl. I did manage to hit @knitknitcda for the @trilogyyarns trunk show. I grabbed some fingering weight for a crop top... and of course more of the @idahofibers tweed that I can’t get enough of. I joke that I only leave the house for groceries, gardening supplies... and yarn 😂 Which is totally true! #buylocal #shoplocal #idahome #idaho #coeurdalene #postfalls #postfallsidaho #knittersofpnw #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knitter #knittingpattern #pnwknitters #knitfatdiewarm #plussizeknitting #instaknit #knitterinos #knittersofidaho #idahoknitters #knittinglife #theshiftcowl

She doesn’t understand June weather in the 50s instead of 100s. #Rileyandpebbles #dogsofinstagram #dogofinstagram #rescuedog #bluemerle #chihuahua #dog #doglover #dogs #🐶 #chihuahuasofinstagram #bluemerlechihuahua #idahome #idaho #postfalls #postfallsidaho
Instagram post 2329346824670127056_3292215 YAS!! Crazy Yarn + The Shift = match made in heaven! I cannot wait to see how this works up. #theshiftcowl #knitknitcda #knittersofpnw #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knitter #knittingpattern #pnwknitters #knitfatdiewarm #plussizeknitting #instaknit #knitterinos #knittersofidaho #idahoknitters #knittinglife #postfalls #postfallsidaho
Instagram post 2328740752750113037_3292215 I haven’t felt like knitting lately, it’s been easier to turn my brain off with Animal Crossing and Pokémon Shield. But then @knitknitcda posted the Crazy Yarn restock and I knew it was time to Shift. Yes, that pun was intended 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 #theshiftcowl #knitknitcda #knittersofpnw #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knitter #knittingpattern #pnwknitters #knitfatdiewarm #plussizeknitting #instaknit #knitterinos #knittersofidaho #idahoknitters #knittinglife #crazyyarn

Instagram post 2310787717243752843_3292215 Working on my #scotchbroomcrop by the fire pit tonight. This is my first fingering weight top and omg, I feel like I’m making zero progress on the stockinette sections. I was hoping to finish this ASAP but now I’ll be lucky to finish this month 😂 #postfalls #postfallsidaho #idahome #knittersofpnw #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knitter #knittingpattern #pnwknitters #knitfatdiewarm #plussizeknitting #instaknit #knitterinos #knittersofidaho #idahoknitters #knittinglife
